Habitación
Mis encuentros con Dánae siempre se producían en la Ventana de su habitación. Esta costumbre, que mucho más tarde llegó a imponerse entre los enamorados casi como única posibilidad, no siempre me acarreó buenos frutos. Ahora lo sé, pero entonces me parecía una idea incontestable y brillante. Imaginaos al enamorado bajo la ventana, con su cítara o su laúd y sus galanterías, agasajando a su amada para que, enternecida, le invite a trepar por la madreselva y una vez cerca de ella, su febril arrebato, primero, e indolente rendición, después, acontezca en el dulce y placentero tálamo del amor.
Cuántas veces acaricié la idea, antes de ponerla en práctica, sin atreverme, por lo innovador y atrevido de la situación. Pero hoy, después de haberla experimentado largos años, aún me produce estremecimiento e impavidez.
